This privacy policy applies to the LastSeen: Free WA Activity View mobile application (“we,” “us,” “our”) and governs your use of the app and our website. This policy complies with international privacy regulations including the GDPR, CalOPPA, and CCPA.

1. We Respect Your Privacy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Your WhatsApp account, contacts, and activity records are processed and stored locally on your device. We do not operate our own servers and do not upload this data anywhere. The only data that leaves your device is the anonymous usage statistics described in Section 3.

2. No Personal Data Collection

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII), such as:

  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Device identifiers
  • Contact list

The app functions without requiring any of this data. The analytics service described in Section 3 assigns a random app-instance identifier that is not linked to your phone number, WhatsApp account, or contacts.

3. Usage and Analytics Data

To understand how the app is used and to find bugs, we use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics in the mobile app, and Google Analytics on the WhatsApp linking page of this website. These services are provided by Google LLC.

What is collected:

  • Anonymous usage events, such as app opens, screen views, and whether an account linking attempt was started or completed
  • Coarse technical information, such as app version, device model, operating system version, language, and approximate country derived from IP address
  • A random app-instance identifier used to count users, which is not linked to your identity
  • Crash and error reports: the technical stack trace of the failure, app version, device model, operating system version, and a random installation identifier

What is not collected: your phone number, WhatsApp account, contacts, chat content, online/offline records, verification codes, or the QR linking data contained in the link opened from the app. The linking page reports only that it was opened and whether the QR code was displayed; it never sends the link contents.

4. Cookies and Tracking

Our mobile app does not use cookies. The WhatsApp linking page on our website uses Google Analytics, which sets a first-party cookie to count visits. Other pages of the website use only cookies required for basic site functionality. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-site tracking.

We process the anonymous analytics data described in Section 3 on the basis of our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). We do not process any other personal data.

6. Your Rights

Your account and activity data are stored only on your device, so there is nothing for us to access, modify, or delete on your behalf. You have the right to:

  • Delete the app to remove all local data and stop all analytics collection
  • Opt out of Google Analytics on the website with the browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
  • Contact us with any privacy concerns

7. CCPA and CalOPPA Disclosures

In accordance with California law:

  • We do not sell or share personal data; the only data shared with a third party is the anonymous analytics data described in Section 3
  • Users can visit our site anonymously
  • Our Privacy Policy is accessible from the website homepage
  • We do not discriminate based on privacy choices

8. Data Transfers

We do not operate remote servers or cloud storage for your data. The anonymous analytics data described in Section 3 is transmitted to Google and may be processed on Google servers outside your country, under Google’s standard data protection terms.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy occasionally. Any updates will be reflected on our website or within the app. Continued use of the app indicates your acceptance of any changes.
